About the research
About myself
I am a third-year Media and Communications student from Goldsmiths University of London. I am currently working on my final dissertation about the influence of gendered characters in children television programs.

Main influences and references:
Judith Butler
Wilhelmina Drucker
Vivian Maier
Giovanna Amati
Reese Witherspoon
Susie Wolff
Laura Mulvey
and many others...
Throughout my three years in university I have been studying gender from different perspectives. I have been interested on the creation of gender - through literal and scientific approaches: the material-discursive perception of gender that theorists like Judith Butler and Karen Barad take; and the political effect on gender.

I recently studied the development and understanding of gender on my own experience and realised that gender has been introduced to me and impacted me the most while watching television when I was a child. This is the reason why I want to focus my thesis on the beginning of understanding and performing gender.

Outside university I work as a Photographer, Videographer and Content Creator. You can find some of my creative work here: www.sheisontheway.com. I also worked as an Assistant Producer and Researcher for BBC and CBBC. Within university, I have been working with the Students Union as a Photographer. I am the President of the Goldsmiths Photography Society and the Treasurer and Social Media Manager of the Friends of the Earth Society. Finally, I work as a Peer Assistant Learning helping first-year students with their academic work.
